LOCAL STORIES
The regional report describes AMURT’s development in Kenya following relief work in Somalia in 1993. Healthcare, emergency response and support for vulnerable children are prominent themes. Visit AMURT Africa for its current programme information.
The Kangemi school began in 1979 and developed from a modest building into a wider educational project. The nearby boys’ home supported children’s education, daily care, gardening and spiritual community life.
The archive records schools and girls’ homes in Nairobi, Mombasa and Nakuru. The Women’s Welfare Department’s Africa page describes education at Ananda Marga Academy in Huruma and a children’s home and school in Kiembeni, Mombasa.
The Likoni project brought a medical clinic, preschool and primary school together on one site. The report describes local support, meals for children and community outreach as important parts of its development.

LOCAL STORIES
Ananda Marga’s school in Wasswa, Mukono District, began in 1988. The archive describes classroom construction, school meals, a children’s home, farming and a clinic built in 2009. These activities linked children’s learning with the wellbeing of the surrounding community.
