LOCAL STORIES
Following the floods of 2000, Ananda Marga’s work around Xai-Xai grew into sanitation and community development. The archive records toilet construction, a water-and-sanitation demonstration centre at Nguguleni and food support for children.
Water-pump repair work was paired with training for elected village water committees. The aim was to help communities identify problems and maintain their own supplies. The historical report describes activity in Xai-Xai, Chibuto and Guijá.
School cleaning committees encouraged handwashing and care for shared facilities. The archive also describes weekly meditation among staff and a cooperative savings initiative.
