Ananda Marga acquired land at Orange Farm in 1990. The project, known as Ananda Jayanti, brought together education, a primary healthcare clinic, HIV outreach, computer learning and a tree nursery. This integrated approach connected practical community needs with long-term development.
The archive describes collective meditation in Lenasia dating back to 1984, together with teaching and service led by the Women’s Welfare Department in Lenasia South. It also records Ananda Marga members in several other South African cities.
The Durban yoga and meditation centre was built in 1997 through the efforts of workers and members. The regional report also records a Yogi Guides programme for primary school students in Richmond, KwaZulu-Natal.
